Think Tank
Hand-screened print for Kirgiami
From a 2024 exhibition by Curtis Schreier (Ant Farm), Swamp Alps, curated with Liz Flyntz. The show featured a model of the artist's future vision to bring elevation to Louisiana using remanded oil derricks and several historical drawings.
Think Tank is a piece from Curtis Schreier's notebooks that he kept for several decades including during the Ant Farm and before. This piece was originally drawn during his time working in Lawrence Halprin's studio in the early 1970s.
The piece is a work of kirigami, a variation of traditional origami that allows cutting as well as folding. It pointedly includes no instructions, allowing the holder to find their way through its construction intuitively.
This is an edition of 50 screen prints, hand-numbered and signed by the artist. Each order includes an additional over-run copy which can be be used to make the kirigami while preserving the paper edition for display.
